Hand thrown on the ceramic wheel by a local South Australian ceramicist, our cake stand is a celebration of thoughtful craftsmanship and everyday ritual. Finished in a soft, natural ceramic with subtle variations that make each piece unique. Designed to elevate everything from a simple afternoon cake to a beautiful layered pavlova, it is a piece made for gathering, sharing, and celebrating. 

Each cake stand is individually crafted, so gentle variations in shape, texture, and finish are part of its’ character - making every piece uniquely yours.

Hand thrown in South Australia. Made slowly, meant to be enjoyed often.

Why we love this

Working from her home studio in Adelaide, Holly Phillipson is a ceramicist who makes wheel-thrown tableware and functional ceramic artworks influenced by Eastern European and South Australian craft histories. Her drive to make is fuelled by a desire to connect to her present and ancestral environments and contribute to a growing local ceramics tradition. She also makes simply for the love of beautiful objects and bringing them into being.
In 2022, Holly graduated with a Bachelor of Creative Arts from Flinders University/TAFE SA. She then moved her practice to the ceramics studio at JamFactory as part of their Associate Program (2022-2023).
Aside from her personal ceramics practice, Holly also works for JamFactory’s ceramics department, producing tableware for their commercial range and teaching wheel-throwing and hand-building workshops.
